Berries & Cream

I love fresh strawberries and whipped cream. Mmm. I was craving them badly today so this was my dinner. I may have to whip up a quesadilla or something in a bit to add a little more substance to my belly in order to take the handful of pills I have to swallow twice a day.

CD3

Today is cycle day 3, which means the start of a medication that can bring frightful side effects. I experienced some of them the first time 'round with this drug 2 years ago. I'm more than willing to deal with the side effects if it does its job.

Birthday Gifts

I had a great birthday celebration with many friends and family coming to my new home for a BBQ and some homemade (by me) mud pie. Mmm. I received some really cool gifts, cash, and gift cards. Can you believe I've never been to BB&B? There wasn't one in my old town so I'm really, really looking forward to going! I also think I'm going to spend my b-day cash on a huge piece of wall art for the living room. I must be getting old if that's how I want to spend my $$.

Company's Comin'

My parents are coming for the holiday weekend, we're expecting over 30 guests for my birthday, and 4 friends from Germany will be arriving Sunday to stay for 3 weeks. I had to stock up on groceries.

Scrumdeli-iscious!

My favorite sandwich... the classic BLT. I had some leftover bacon from breakfast on Sunday and I made Gil promise not to eat it because I wanted this sandwich. Mmm. Only sad thing is, it got me craving the one I would always order at my favorite Irish pub in my old town... they made it on yummy ciabatta bread and added slices of cream cheese. Oh. My. Dee-lish!

A Glorious Sound

Allison and Grace - this one's for you! :) I didn't take a picture today because I did nothing but work and do more house projects; I'm getting ready to crash into oblivion right now. This is from the Highland Games I went to last summer (weren't able to make it back this year because of the move). We knew a guy in the host band and were huddled in the shade of a small tree chatting with him when his mates came up and started using him to tune their pipes. Next thing we know, we're surrounded by about 10 pipers gathered in a circle around us and playing... I was in absolute heaven! Silly me forgot to charge the camera battery and I knew I only had one picture left; I think it turned out rather well.
